    In World War II Casablanca, Rick Blaine, exiled American and former freedom fighter, runs the most popular nightspot in town. The cynical lone wolf Blaine comes into the possession of two valuable letters of transit. When Nazi Major Strasser arrives in Casablanca, the sycophantic police Captain Renault does what he can to please him, including detaining Czech underground leader Victor Laszlo. Much to Rick's surprise, Lazslo arrives with Ilsa, Rick's one time love. Rick is very bitter towards Ilsa, who ran out on him in Paris, but when he learns she had good reason to, they plan to run off together again using the letters of transit. Well, that was their original plan. Rick has his own plan in his heart. Rick bully Renault to ensure Lazslo and Ilsa leave Casablanca by plane safely. Unfortunately, Renault telephones Strasser cunningly. When the plane is leaving, Strasser arrives. He can’t wait to stop the plane’s taking off so that Rick kills him with a gun. With the help of Renault, Rick is safe and plans to make a tour.

    At first, I think this cinema is much similar to Schindler’s List. The heroes are both inhospitable, but kind-hearted actually. But there is a great difference that the love story in Casablanca moves tens of thousands of audiences into tears. One person commented: Love is never a mistake, but often is missed. As our fate, love is also of intangibility. Every year the peach blossom is the same, but people have changed. When Rick meets Ilsa at the Rick’s Cafes, we can feel the misery in their hearts from the expression on their faces, especially for those having similar memories.
